Ben & Anna Wedding | First Church | Oklahoma City, OK Wedding Photographer | Michelle Valantine Photography

On the morning of Saturday, July 8th, the rainclouds were threatening to unleash their fury, but it didn’t matter because this was Anna and Ben’s wedding day, and for that reason alone, this day would sparkle! From the moment we got to the church, activities were in full gear…fun and impromptu pictures of the bride with her bridesmaids, as they assisted Anna into a wedding dress that was seemingly made for her…an A-line, intricately laced, floor length, white gown, with a scalloped V-neck front, and a diamond-shaped cut-out in the back.  An embroidered handkerchief was tucked inside her garter as a “remembrance” of her grandmother.  The six bridesmaids wore individually designed royal blue chiffon gowns, and each carried a similar version of Anna’s lush bouquet of pale, ivory roses and white lilies.

Shots of the relaxed and charismatic groom with his groomsmen came next.  The comradery they share is evident in every photograph!  Then it was time to squeeze in a sentimental “first look” for the bride’s dad before the romantic “first look” with the groom, and you can tell from the expression on Ben’s face…and the height of his jump…how excited he was to see her in her wedding dress!

First Church OKC was an ideal location for this couple’s wedding.  Located in the heart of Oklahoma City, its ministry began during the land run of 1889, and has continued to share the gospel through two wars and the infamous April 1995 bombing.  The large, stained glass windows, dark mahogany wood and simple, yet elegant sanctuary was the perfect backdrop for these two young people who were meant for each other.

When asked what the best part of the day was, Anna said, “getting to see Ben for the first look, and his reaction to seeing me.”  Ben’s response was “getting to see Anna walk down the aisle and say our vows to each other.”

Anna felt that her wedding day went smoothly, but if she were to do it over again, she would hire a wedding planner and a florist to take some of the responsibility off herself, family, and friends.  Her favorite piece of advice to a prospective bride and groom:  “When things get stressful or overwhelming—and at some point they will—just take a break, step back, and enjoy.”

After the couple exchanged vows, guests were invited to participate in a fun, romantic, and lively reception that included the “first dance” dances with the parents, toasts to the bride and groom, a sit-down dinner, the cake cutting, throwing of the bouquet and garter…and lots and lots of dancing!  At the end of the evening, it was time for friends and family to gather together and wish this fun-loving couple farewell and best wishes for a wonderful life together!

When asked what the best part of the day was, Anna said, “getting to see Ben for the first look, and his reaction to seeing me.” Ben’s response was “getting to see Anna walk down the aisle and say our vows to each other.” Anna felt that her wedding day went smoothly, but if she were to do it over again, she would hire a wedding planner and a florist to take some of the responsibility off herself, family, and friends. Her favorite piece of advice to a prospective bride and groom: “When things get stressful or overwhelming—and at some point they will—just take a break, step back, and enjoy.” After the couple exchanged vows, guests were invited to participate in a fun, romantic, and lively reception that included the “first dance,” dances with the parents, toasts to the bride and groom, a sit-down dinner, the cake cutting, throwing of the bouquet and garter…and lots and lots of dancing! At the end of the evening, it was time for friends and family to gather together and wish this fun-loving couple farewell and best wishes for a wonderful life together!

On the morning of Saturday, July 8th, the rainclouds were threatening to unleash their fury, but it didn’t matter because this was Anna and Ben’s wedding day, and for that reason alone, this day would sparkle! From the moment we got to the church, activities were in full gear…fun and impromptu pictures of the bride with her bridesmaids, as they assisted Anna into a wedding dress that was seemingly made for her…a mermaid-shaped, intricately laced, floor length, white gown, with a scalloped V-neck front, and a diamond-shaped, cut-out in the back. An embroidered handkerchief was tucked inside her garter as a “remembrance” of her grandmother. The six bridesmaids wore individually designed, royal blue chiffon gowns, and each carried a similar version of Anna’s lush bouquet of pale, ivory roses and white lilies. Impromptu shots of the relaxed and charismatic groom with his groomsmen came next. The comradery they share was evident in every photograph! Then it was time to squeeze in a sentimental “first look” for the bride’s dad before the romantic “first look” with the groom, and you can tell from the expression on Ben’s face…and the height of his jump…how excited he was to finally see her! First Church OKC was an ideal location for this couple’s wedding. Located in the heart of Oklahoma City, its ministry began during the land run of 1889, and has continued to share the gospel through two wars and the infamous April 1995 bombing. The large, stained glass windows, dark mahogany wood, and simple, yet elegant sanctuary was the perfect backdrop for these two young people who were meant for each other.
