Caitlin & Gordi | Bricktown Canal | Oklahoma City Engagement Photographer | Michelle Valantine Photography

If I had a crystal ball and could predict the success of a relationship, Caitlin and Gordi would definitely be a winning pair! During their Engagement Session, they laughed with delight as I captured them sitting, walking, standing, twirling, dipping...all in great anticipation of their upcoming wedding day!

Their romance has been a “family affair” from the beginning. After all, it was Caitlin’s sister-in-law who set them up. And during their proposal, both sets of parents we present and standing on the sidelines watching with great anticipation and excitement! Caitlin's mom accompanied us on the shoot and helped the two look their best. She not only carried my camera equipment for me, she taught Gordi how to dip Caitlin!

After their first date, Caitlin described Gordi as “cute, but dorky,” and he described her as “adorable.” No matter the adjectives used, they are a very special couple as you can tell by the connection they share in their Engagement pictures! October 20th can’t get here fast enough!

They are getting married in October of 2017. To celebrate, we went to the Bricktown Canal in Oklahoma City to shoot their engagement pictures. Their connection made the shoot fun and energetic and magical.

And a special shout out to Caitlin's mom who kept us on our toes and made us laugh with her exuberant personality!

They had just come from an Anime Convention at Will Rogers Park when we met for our consult, so when we started talking about the details of their Engagement Session, it was easy to determine Will Rogers Park as their location. We met early Labor Day morning, just when the sun's rays started peeking over the tops of the large trees. Flowers were blooming all around us in every color of the rainbow. The perfect setting for a couple in love.

He picked an amazing day to propose...her birthday! They spent the day with her family, and he asked her parents for their blessing. When they returned home that evening, he told her that her birthday present was hidden in the kitchen. She finally discovered it in a very tall cabinet she rarely uses...it was a ring!

Anime Conventions are one of their favorite things to do together. They enjoy attending about 3 or 4 a year. In fact, when they first met, their favorite game to play together was Divinity. She recalled how they used to spend hours playing together, which was valuable time getting to know one another. They described themselves to me as geeks, but what I saw was a tender and sweet connection. And it was my pleasure capturing it for them.
