A | Norman, OK Child Photographer | Michelle Valantine Photography

These two are inseparable.  I know because they belong to me...I am her mother.  She just turned 9-years old, and multiple times daily, we have conversations about Coco, the dog we rescued from Second Chance Animal Sanctuary almost 2 years ago.  She will often inquire to me, "Do you think Coco likes our home?  Do you think we are the best family for her?  We are so lucky to have found her first."  Indeed, we are.

I love Coco for being a source of joy and companionship.  Together, they've gone through a mom and dad who divorced, resulting in two different houses to adapt to...and this past year, they've watched as I've tried to find my own two feet in the world of photography.

So when her birthday passed, I approached her and asked, "What would make your 9-year photo shoot special for you?"  With a pout, I was told, "The ONLY thing that will make it better for me is if I can bring Coco!"  Considering my intention was to capture her in all her "nine-ness," I responded, "Yes, of course.  Excellent idea."  So she did.  And with my mom as my assistant, we had 3 generations of women coming together to capture this little girl and her dog.
