Prayer for Baby D
We are grateful
for this new being
who is small in body
yet great in Soul,
who has come
into our midst
as a gift.
May we be sensitive
to the Sacred
as we nurture
and learn from
this child.
Give us patience.
Give us strength.
And grant us
wisdom and love
to help this child
learn to face the world
and sing his own song. - Anne Spring
I remember the excitement as blue balloons emerged from the trunk of the car at their Gender Reveal Mini Session when they first learned they'd be having a son. And now he is here! When I went to their home for their consult and met 3-week old Baby D, whom they endearingly refer to as their "Rock Star," it didn't take long for me to realize we'd be working around a central theme of racing. With both parents being race car drivers, they first took me into his room, which is brightly decorated in all things racing, complete with a checkered rug! Then they took me into their garage living space (complete with all things garage, plus a couch, TV, workshop, etc.) and showed me their race cars. Shelby (who is named after Carroll Shelby, the designer of the Shelby Mustang) excitedly showed me her polished black Ford GT Shelby Mustang and asked if we could get a picture of Baby D laying on it. I said, "Yes, of course!" By the time the shoot was over, we had also stuck him in her racing helmet, and inside a tire. You will enjoy these pictures.
Thank you for stopping by! Feel free to leave a comment for this beautiful family, and click here to see images from their Gender Reveal Mini Session.
